It all started with a picture taken by a travelling Photgrapher and his pony. I was one of those horse crazy girls living in the city. I collected any type of model horse and by the time I was 10 I had more than 200 statues. I could name by heart every horse and pony breed on a poster that hung in my bedroom. I read every "Billy and Blaze" book in first grade. I just knew someday I would have a real horse. That day took 12 years. My first horse was a registered Appaloosa gelding named War Whoops Geronimo. We did everything--4-H, TriState Horse Shows, trail riding, dressage, eventing and even tricks. After buying and selling a number of horses I decided to train the next one from a weanling. I had enough of retraining "30 day wonder" horses. Luckily, my mother-in-law was breeding palomino Quarter Horses. My husband bought the first, K J's Desire. Then we acquired K J's Tuff Stuff, a half-sister to the first mare. I broke both to saddle and started them in basic dressage. Then a period of 13 years passed while I raised my daughter and helped her with 4-H, horse shows and started my Photo Studio. A few years later, as luck would have it, I found a gifted dressage instructor in the area and once again was hooked on riding. I showed my daughter's mare successfully in Dressage and then purchased a purebred Lipizzan filly from Starmount Lipizzans two years ago. This time nothing will stop me to achieve F.E.I. level dressage. My horse, Austina is 4 1/2 years old now. We will be showing Intro and Training level this summer. In the meantime... Since my daughter is just as horse crazy as I was she was the driving force to make realistic horse tack for her model horse collection. She's now showing and qualifying in NAN classes.
